Five Templeton students qualify for state history competition

Templeton Middle School eighthgrade students competed March 28 at the regional level of National History Day at Carroll University. Five students qualified to advance to the April 25 state competition at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

Students from Templeton and their projects advancing to the state junior division level are:

• Abigail Dowse – individual website “Adolf Hitler – An Unforgettable Leader,”
• Jessica Mysliwski and Olivia Neils – group exhibit board “Rosa Parks Avenue,” and
• Hannah Emberts and Lisa Nuelk – group website “Oskar Schindler – Righteous Among Nations.”

National History Day is an academic enrichment program for students in grades 6-12. Students select topics connected to an annual theme and complete their own in-depth research on the topic.

This year the annual theme is “Leadership and Legacy in History.” Students present their conclusions in exhibit boards, performances, websites, papers or documentaries.
